Who We Are

Heaven’s View Christian Fellowship (HVCF) is a multiracial/multicultural church congregation that was formed out of the merger of a predominantly White church congregation and a predominantly Black church congregation, to intentionally reflect the integrated nature and character of heaven (Rev. 7:9). The harmony that we display within our diversity reflects the love of Jesus Christ to the world.

CHURCH GOVERNANCE

Heaven’s View is nondenominational and independent in its governance, with our beliefs conforming to orthodox Christianity. The BELIEFS page provides details. We recognize that there is one Body of Jesus Christ, a spiritual organism consisting of all Spirit-indwelt followers of the Lord. In addition to the gifts of the Holy Spirit that all Christians hold in common, we believe that there are special gifts given to individuals and to congregations (1 Cor. 12; Rom. 12:4-8). Our mission at HVCF is first and foremost the Great Commission to make disciples to Jesus Christ (Matt. 28:19-20). Our congregation’s specific mission is to do this through community development efforts that identify and address the needs of the disadvantaged and disenfranchised peoples of our community and beyond.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

We pursue this mission through Community Transformation Ministry (CTM). In practicing CTM, our church operates as a social enterprise in partnership with Heaven’s View Community Development Corp. ( www.jobspartnershippeoria.org ) and other sister corporations to help the poor move into our nation’s middle class; so that they can realize and enjoy the economic security and dream of owning homes, having healthcare and sending their loved ones to college (Lev. 19:9-10 & Deut. 15:1-7).
